Ashish Kumar Bakshi is a seasoned development professional with over 25 years of experience in program and operations management across development and humanitarian settings. He currently leads the SWAPNO II project at UNDP, having joined in July 2024. Previously, he headed the Cox's Bazar and Chittagong Hill Tracts Programme at Plan International Bangladesh and held senior leadership roles at Oxfam (Bangladesh and Ethiopia) and CARE Bangladesh. His expertise spans food security, livelihoods, women’s economic empowerment, gender justice, climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction, governance, and social protection. He holds an MPA in Governance and Public Policy from the University of Dhaka and an MA in Philosophy from the National University of Bangladesh.
Rozi Akter has joined in SWAPNO project on December, 2022. She has 10 year’s experience on Disaster Risk Management, Climate Change Adaptation, Gender and Women Empowerment, Food Security and livelihood, Women Entrepreneurship, Child Protection, Protection and Accountability to Affected populations, Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, Community Strategy Development. She has started her career with Gana Unnayan Kendra as Technical Officer. She has also worked for World Food Programme as Programme Assistant and Save the Children International as Project Officer- Child Protection. She also worked as Research Assistant with Comprehensive Disaster Management Programme װ for Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, WFP-FAO joint Research Programmes, International Citizen Service Programme of Volunteer Services Overseas.She has expertise on capacity development, climate resilient community development, community strategy development, community level small and medium entrepreneurship (SME’s) development for extreme poor women and Project Cycle Management.She holds MSS on Disaster Management (MDM) from University of Dhaka, MA and BA (Honors) on Persian Language and Literature from University of Dhaka.
A result-oriented experienced professional accountant withthe concepts, theories, and practices of finance, accounting and administrationnurtured in different non-profit Organizations in collaboration with Gov’t.During his service period he had ensure the financial viability of theemergency intervention, mobilize resources and upholding the financialresponsibility of the complex, multi-donor funded project.
Md. Amir Ali joined as Financial Monitoring Associate in January 2020. Before taking this role, he worked with CARE Bangladesh, Gram Bikash Sangstha, AKOTA and SKS Foundation for last twenty years. His extensive experience in Planning and Budgeting, Quality Field monitoring and Management, Monitoring PNGO and Local Governance activity, financial management, operational strategies, reporting and documentation, PNGO monitoring and capacity building, implementation of internal control system possibly will enhance our project activities. His educational background includes a master’s in business administration (MBA) from Begum Rokeya University Rangpur.
He has done his Master of Commerce in Accounting and more than 20 years of experiences in Office Management & Program activity Monitoring, Procurement process, Financial control systems, Community empowerment, Local governance & social mobilization, Staff Supervision & Assessment, Monitoring budget expenditure, Financial management system, IGA related activities, Financial reporting at urban & rural areas.Mr. Haque started his career with Rural Maintenance Programme of CARE Bangladesh and also worked with Urban Partnership for Poverty Reduction Project of UNDP, Christian Service Society (CSS) as Coordinator Capacity Building, Swadesh BD International Limited as Manager Admin & operation.
Mohammad Masum has been working as Financial Monitoring Associate with SWAPNO Project since January 2020. He has 25 years of experience gained through serving in RSDP & NSDP of USAID Project, Nari Uddug Kendra (NUK) Voluntary Association for Rural Development (VARD), Save the Children and UNDP Bangladesh. Prior to joining SWAPNO he was the UNDP with LoGIC and UPGP Project. He had to opportunity to work closely with Union Parishad and facilitated district and Upazila GoB officials for implemented programme, financial activities, accounts maintenance, fund monitoring and grants monitoring activities including performance and financial audit.Mr. Masum is specialized in the area of finance, programme and office management, capacity building of UP functionaries and partner organizations, staff management, training and livelihood improvement of the poor/ultra-poor community. He holds Master of Commerce (Management) form the University of Chattogram.
He has Master of Commerce (Accounting). He brought 12 years of development experience working mainly with SDLG Project of USAID, Local Governance Project with SKS Foundation, Rupantor, RDRS Bangladesh and ASOD in different capacities with a major focus in community empowerment, local governance, social mobilization through popular drama and folk song, education and child rights. Last six years, I have been exclusively working with LGIs for their capacity building in major focus financial and program monitoring of LGIs.He is a drama and folk song artist of Bangladesh Better, Rangpur. I can develop issue based drama and folk song script and play harmonium, dhol, khol, mondira. I have performed last 20 years as drama secretary of Rangpur Theatre, Rangpur.
He holds MBA in Finance, also completed Chartered Accountants (CA) course from Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). He has more than 11 years’ Experience & knowledge in Financial control systems, Monitoring budget expenditure, financial management system, procurement process, maintaining Books and Accounts, financial reporting, Internal Control, Commendable analytical and conceptual skills with experiences in areas such as fund/grant management, Income Tax/Vat rules and audit rules & processes.He is with SWAPNO team since June 2015, completed an assignment with UPPR project of United Nations Development Programme as Finance Expert in Khulna City Corporation, Khulna. He was the Financial Monitoring Associate of REOPA project of UNDP, Finance Officer- Save the children International. He has the interest to conserve his knowledge, skills and attitude in human resources development.
