Time-frame: 2014-2026
SWAPNO began in 2014 and expanded from 2 to 12 districts through multiple phases. After its initial and extension phases (2014–2022), an Initiation Phase (2022–2023) prepared the foundation for SWAPNO Phase II (2023–2026), which now focuses on sustainable livelihoods and women’s economic empowerment.
Coverage so far: 441 Unions in 50 Upazilas of 14 districts
Primary beneficiaries: 22,680 ultra-poor women headed households
Implementing agency: Local Government Division, MoLGRD&C
Local implementation: 441 Union Parishads, with development of institutional capacity
Development partners: Embassy of Sweden, Marico, UNDP, ILO, SDG-F, BSRM and others
